SANDRA SUUBI’S BIOGRAPHY
Sandra Suubi is a Ugandan based artist with a voice to inspire, give hope and positive energy. She is the power house who brings the house down with her vocals. As one journalist wrote “When Sandra Suubi starts to sing we all got goose pumps”. She is a vocalist whose experimentation with different genres of music has resulted into songs such as African woman, Amazing love, Togwamu Suubi and others.
During her school days in Gayaza, she was part of the school chapel choir. In S.6 vacation she started to perform with the novel band at different events and while at the university she joined a group called XABU.
Sandra Suubi won the Airtel trace competition 2015 in Uganda. Currently she is working on her maiden album Anthems Of Life which will be released in 2016. Togwamu Suubi, The beat, Nsimye, onjangande nyo are some of the songs on her upcoming album.
Suubi is also an eco-artist whose work has featured in different Kampala art festivals like the Bayimba 2013 back drop, the laba 2014 Headphones, Bodaboda Helmet and the concept of the bird during the Kampala art. She recycles plastic bottles for her work.
She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Fine art at Margret Trowel School of industrial Art Makerere.
The Uganda Diaspora Network is a forum aimed at bringing together Ugandans who live and work abroad by celebrating their contributions overseas and also encouraging them to give of their time, talents, ideas and expertise whilst inspiring the next generation of Ugandan leaders.
Every year the Ugandan Diaspora Network will organize an annual Social Networking Gala and will also produce a quarterly publication highlighting the successes of the various Ugandans residing overseas.
