Solome Katongole’s Bio | Fashion Influence and Background

I was born in Uganda and raised in Columbia, MD. I have always been aware of fashion from a young age and as I grew older my passion for fashion design grew as well.

I have a bachelors of science in Biology. I first showcased my designs as an undergraduate at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

I honed my skills by designing for and participating in local fashion shows. In 2008 I moved to LA to pursue my dream of becoming a professional designer.

I attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, I graduated with a Major in Fashion Design.

I am inspired by color and nature. I design clothes that make a woman feel great, sophisticated, and sexy.

I create garments that are comfortable and make a statement. I love dance, traveling to warm areas wearing bright bright and soft colors, so I translate color and dance and a sense of feel into my fashion giving my customers the freedom to define their own style.

My future plans are to have my own line and boutique.

The Solome Katongole label specializes in customized women’s clothing. The line is all about chic comfort and color. Solome states ” I translate color and dance and a sense of feel into my fashion giving my customers the freedom to define their own style likes the fact that women today are reclaiming their traditional attire and are willing to merge western with the traditional”.

The Solome Katongole line is all about a fusion of culture and fabrics. Solome Katongole Mercedes Benz of Buffalo fashion week runway show took place on Sat. Sept 10 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention center: http://www.fashionweekbuffalo.com/
